how to read a listing before you buy it

self-reported numbers, verified numbers, and the gap between them. what to check before you send anything.

every listing on solstead discloses a proof type and a proof detail. proof type is one of three things: mrr and retention, a verified user count, or a completed audit. proof detail is the seller's own numbers behind it.

the proof type itself is checked by us before the listing goes live. the specific figures in proof detail are self-reported, and the listing says so plainly, not in a footnote.

01

open the demo first

a live, working link you can click before you read anything else on the page. if it doesn't run, stop there.

02

read what it doesn't do

every listing discloses its own limitations and who it isn't for. read that before the pitch, not after.

03

check the handoff notes

what you'll need to set up yourself after ownership transfers. this is where hidden dependencies show up.

04

check ownership notes

any known licensing or ownership restriction is disclosed up front, or the listing says plainly that there isn't one.

the gap between self-reported and verified is exactly the size of the risk you're taking on.

read the demo before you read the price.
